High-Level Freesat Installation on Large Darwen Property

This case study features a Freesat satellite dish installation completed on a very large property in Darwen. The customer required a reliable Freesat signal feeding two separate Freesat boxes, but due to the size and height of the building, finding a suitable line of sight was far more challenging than a standard installation.

Our satellite engineer attended the property to assess access, signal routes, and the best mounting location. With large buildings, roof height and surrounding obstacles can make line of sight difficult, so a careful survey was essential.

Initial Survey

The engineer carried out a full line-of-sight check around the property and confirmed that the only suitable position was very high up on the building. Lower mounting points were obstructed by parts of the structure itself, meaning the satellite path was blocked.

Because of this, the dish had to be installed at special-heights level—something standard installers often cannot complete. Weather, access angles, and fixing strength were all taken into account before choosing the final mounting location.

Installation Work

Once the correct position was identified, the engineer mounted the Freesat-compatible satellite dish securely at height and aligned it precisely to the satellite. Special care was taken to ensure the dish was both safe and stable in its elevated position.

From there, the engineer routed the cables neatly around the large exterior of the building. Two separate feeds were required to connect to 2× Freesat receiver boxes inside the property. Each cable run was clipped, secured, and routed cleanly to maintain both performance and appearance.

Once inside, the cables were terminated professionally and connected to both Freesat boxes. Signal tests confirmed strong, stable reception at each location in the house.

Result

The customer received:

  • A high-level Freesat dish installation with full line of sight
  • Neat, secure cabling routed around a large building
  • Two fully working Freesat feeds supplying two receiver boxes
  • A reliable, stable satellite signal even from a difficult mounting position

The job required specialist heights access, careful planning, and precise dish alignment—all completed to a high standard.

Our Final Say

Large buildings, awkward locations, and poor line-of-sight issues often lead to installation refusals from Sky and other companies. However, our TV aerial and satellite engineers specialise in non-standard installations, special heights work, and complex dish positioning.

If you’ve been refused an install or need a specialist Freesat, Sky Q, or Freeview setup, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help. We have the equipment, experience, and knowledge to get your TV working wherever possible.
