A customer in Burnley contacted We Fit Aerials after experiencing problems receiving Sky satellite channels. The issue needed diagnosing properly, as the customer’s Sky system was not delivering the full range of channels as expected.
Project Overview
This job involved a Sky satellite signal repair in Burnley. The customer arranged for one of our engineers to visit the property and investigate why the Sky channels were not coming through correctly.
After checking the satellite signal at the dish, the engineer found that nearby trees had grown into the line of sight. This was blocking the signal and preventing the Sky dish from receiving a full, reliable satellite connection.
The Challenge
Satellite dishes need a clear line of sight to receive a strong signal. In this case, the dish itself was not the main problem. The issue was that trees had gradually grown and were now interfering with the signal path.
The customer needed a practical repair that would restore the Sky channels and reduce the chance of the same problem happening again. The work also had to be completed neatly, with the cabling kept tidy and the system fully checked before the engineer left.
Our Solution
The engineer discussed the available options with the customer, including the different ways the signal problem could be resolved and the costs involved.
The agreed solution was to relocate the Sky satellite dish higher up the property. Heavy-duty fixings and a larger mast were used so the dish could be positioned away from the obstruction caused by the trees.
Once the dish had been moved, the engineer made sure the cabling was neat and secure. The satellite signal was then checked again to confirm that the dish was receiving correctly from its new position.
The Result
After the repair and relocation work was completed, the engineer returned inside the property and checked the Sky box with the customer. The system was working correctly and the customer was able to receive the available Sky channels again.
The job restored the customer’s satellite TV service and provided a longer-term solution by moving the dish clear of the tree obstruction.

Why This Job Matters
This case study shows why proper satellite fault diagnosis is important. A poor Sky signal is not always caused by a faulty box or damaged dish. In some cases, the problem can be caused by external obstructions, such as trees blocking the dish’s line of sight.
By identifying the cause and relocating the dish to a better position, We Fit Aerials restored the customer’s Sky satellite service and helped prevent the same signal issue from returning.
